Students enjoy immersive learning from their own homes

Following the unveiling of our new and exciting virtual projects in April, Masters and MBA students from Durham University undertook several immersive, virtual meetings with finance specialists in Stuttgart and Zurich.
As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold and the prospect of an ‘on the ground’ study trip diminished, ISP agreed with the faculty to re-design their trip to be an all-virtual experience. Within two weeks, the same topics and focus were converted to several online sessions, high-brow speakers from companies including Commerzbank, MoneyFarm and Metzler Asset Management was lined up, and the students were ready to gain fresh, meaningful perspectives from experts in their industry. They covered topics from supply chain finance and cryptocurrency to the possible consequences of COVID-19 and emerging technologies, such as blockchain, big data and artificial intelligence.
The Durham team summarized the experience:
